Why is our trip to Uluru the best?

Thousands of visitors travel to Central Australia every year to visit the giant rock formation called Uluru which was once known as Ayer’s Rock.

The Australian Tourism Council wants to see more Australian families travelling to the Northern Territory and visiting that state’s attractions including Uluru.  The Tourism Council has invited secondary school students to plan an expedition to Central Australia and to explain why their trip to Uluru is the “best”. Certificates of High Commendation will also be awarded to those students who produce a quality itinerary while a special award will be made to the students’ whose trip is judged the “best”.

When people travel to central Australia they are interested in observing the countryside and finding out things about desert plants and animals, tourist sites and how the Aboriginal people lived.

In planning your trip to the outback you need to  think about the things you want to see, your method of transport, your accommodation and how much money you intend to spend.
